Synopsis

Emily @ the Edge of Chaos is an 80-minute movie that centers on brainiac comedian Emily Levine’s one woman show, filmed live and then interwoven with animations, special effects, actual scientists and animated characters voiced by - John Lithgow (Sir Isaac Newton), Lily Tomlin (Ayn Rand), Leonard Nimoy (Freud), Richard Lewis (Aristotle), and Fred Willard as a Clydesdale. All these elements work synergistically to further Emily’s - and the movie’s - goal: to save the planet.

Credits

Featuring: John Lithgow (Sir Isaac Newton), Lily Tomlin (Ayn Rand), Leonard Nimoy (Freud), Richard Lewis (Aristotle), Matt Goening (Benjamin Franklin), Winnie Holzman (a Photon), Paul Dooley (a Muon), Jenny O’Hara (a Lepton), and Fred Willard (a Clydesdale)

Bought to you by: Bob Balaban (Executive Producer), Wendy Apple (Co-executive Producer/Director), Lynda Weinman (Executive Producer), Bruce Heavin (Executive Producer), Thea Kerman (Executive Producer), and Emily Levine (Executive Producer/Writer/Star)

The film has not yet been released because first the director, Wendy Apple died suddenly as she was finishing, and not long after, our beautiful star and inspiration, Emily Levine also passed away after a long battle with cancer. Stay tuned!

Reviews

“I have never spent a more entertaining, intellectually arresting and emotionally fulfilling hour in the theater.” - Norman Lear

“…an inspirational gift to its viewers, reminding all of us that we must continue writing and re-writing history in order to give voice to those who, otherwise, would be silenced.” - Betty Ann Brown, ART AND CAKE

“Gorgeous graphics and a truly compelling and unique story told with imagination and wit. Valid, beautiful, spiritual, shocking.” - WOFF Judges: Felicity Beckett, Picturehouse Cinemas and Kavita Puri, BBC Our World, Editor

“A Stunningly animated piece that peers into the fabric of feminist surrealism and draws out its numinous thread.” Dario Guerrero, Director of ROCIO

"This marvelous take on our culture and times by one of the funniest comediennes with a grasp on Chaos Theory (and best TED Talkers) has not been released yet due to the unexpected and untimely deaths of first our director, and then our star. Certainly a first for me. Fingers crossed that you’ll have a chance to see this hilarious work!” Miriam Cutler 2019
