Variety magazine covered the 'Women Who Score' Concert Documentary, which aimed to highlight the lack of female composers in film and television.

The concert took place in Downtown LA last summer and what made it unique was that all the composers were women. Cutler made the following statement during the concert:“The whole industry is struggling right now with the lack of diversity. Nowhere is it more evident than among composers for film. The smallest of percentages of women are involved in scoring films. That’s not because they’re not interested; it’s because they can’t get through the initial gatekeepers.”

The Women Who Score: Soundtracks Live, an orchestral concert highlighting scores by 20 composers – among them Oscar and Emmy winners – was performed by a 55-piece orchestra and 30-voice choir conducted by Grammy winner Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum and presented by Grand Performances, The Alliance for Women Film Composers, The Film Music Society and White Bear PR. The event featured music by Lesley Barber, Wendy Blackstone, Kathryn Bostic, Jessica Curry, Miriam Cutler, Sharon Farber, Germaine Franco, Lili Haydn, Laura Karpman, Penka Kouneva, Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum, Heather McIntosh, Wendy Melvoin & Lisa Coleman, Julia Newmann, Starr Parodi, Rachel Portman, Lolita Ritmanis, Nan Schwartz, Shirley Walker and Diane Warren.
