Synopsis


PANDEMIC: FACING AIDS, is a documentary that puts a face on the global problem of AIDS as the most life threatening health problem facing humanity since the bubonic plague. The feature-length version of the film premiered at the XIV International AIDS Conference in Barcelona, Spain, in July 2002 and then screened at other prominent venues around the world, including the United Nations on World AIDS Day 2002. The film was shown on Capitol Hill in the spring of 2003.


Nominated for a 2004 Emmy for Writing for Nonfiction programming, Pandemic: Facing AIDS is a multi-faceted project that includes a feature-length documentary, a five part series, a 42-minute educational film, twenty minute policy maker’s version, five Public Service Announcements, a website, a promotional CD, a traveling photo exhibition, a photography book, and numerous supporting educational materials. The scope of the global AIDS epidemic is staggering, and Pandemic provides a unique perspective, melding intimate personal stories with a global perspective, while providing moving stories and lessons that have become important tools for AIDS education.
